While I understand the packaging challenges, I do think that code quality
and the time passed since last branching IMHO make sense to try and recover
and cut a release.

Having said that, if your ETA on rails 5.1 is over a month of effort, maybe
it make sense to revisit that, but as it stands, I'm in favor in branching
more or less on schedule.
