Package: rkhunter Version: 1.4.2-0.4 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
the default rkhunter.conf includes the following line: SCRIPTWHITELIST=/usr/bin/lwp-request I don't have libwww-perl installed on serveral systems, so when rkhunter is invoked, it fails with the following error message: Invalid SCRIPTWHITELIST configuration option: Non-existent pathname: /usr/bin/lwp-request I think the default rkhunter.conf shouldn't cause rkhunter to fail when an optional package - that rkhunter doesn't depend on - is not installed in the system. I had to comment out the "SCRIPTWHITELIST=/usr/bin/lwp-request" to get rkhunter running on the affected systems.
