Hello all,
Been looking at our groups, specially in the group: group-desktop-common
I can see it has these that I don't think the fit in that group:
gdm-user-switch-applet
gimp
mono (if not depending on something in our core that force all
environment to have it)
ubuntu-light-themes
GConf
Those packages feels like they belong into Gnome and not in xfce, lxde,
enlightenment and soon. Probably some more, but these ones sticked out a
little from that group.
Same with the group: group-internet
group-internet=foresight.rpath.org@fl:2-devel/2.5.3+2013.02.03-0.4-3[~!gcc.core]
google-talk-plugin=foresight.rpath.org@fl:2-devel/2013.01.16-1-1
libpurple=foresight.rpath.org@fl:2-devel/2.10.6-1-1
nspr=foresight.rpath.org@fl:2-devel/4.9.4-1-1
nss=foresight.rpath.org@fl:2-devel/3.14.1-1-1
skype=foresight.rpath.org@fl:2-devel/4.1.0.20-0.1-1
transmission=foresight.rpath.org@fl:2-devel/2.60-0.1-1
xulrunner=foresight.rpath.org@fl:2-devel/1.9.2.22-1-1
I thought NetworkManager, ModemManager, usb_modeswitch and such related
packages were in that group.
group-internet is no use in enlightenment, lxde. And that means I can't
use the group group-desktop-common from out of the box, as it will pull
in group-internet.
Is it worth to fix up our current groups a bit, to make them more "fit"
into what environment you are using?
As I would like to be able to install group-desktop-platform and
openbox, enlightenmentand so on without getting gimp......
Will FL3 have same kind of setup of groups that we have today? Or will
it have a better structure?
I hope that we are aiming for being able to customize our FL3 as we
want. Without getting too much of unwanted packages.
Any thoughts?
