i guess the problem is that a new address looks like a different repo to
conary. so changing the address means changing the repo, and i think
changing the repo means redownloading all packages. i don't know if
conary can recognize that files in two different repos are really the
same.

and that would affect all machines currently running a conary system.

more so, even if a machine migrates to a new repo, rollbacks would still
reference the old repo. so while adding a new hostname is possible, i
don't think we could get rid of the old one any time soon.
