hi,

i just came across this discussion of an issue with the perl packages in
fedora. the actual issue is not so large but it opens a great discussion
on the roles of distributions, packagers and upstream, and touches on
the goals of foresight:

the discussion gives some great insights on the problems facing
everyone, and the expectations from all involved, including users.

it's really worth reading if you want to think about what it means to be
a packager, and how your work affects people, as well as how our goals
as a distribution are looking in the light of the issues discussed.

greetings, martin.
