In the long run, rather than copying code (and worrying about license
compatibility and following changes upstream) just building bodhi
and importing its published interfaces makes more sense to me.

Re-writing parts of bodhi seems like a waste of time to me; I'm very
glad that you're doing the appropriate research here.  This is great!
