That's why OSS communities should avoid "the water cooler". http://communitymgt.wikia.com/wiki/Water_cooler And why the apache policy "If it didn't happen on a mailing list, it didn't happen." [0] And why gnome/kde/freedesktop/ubuntu got a trouble recently in their relationship. [1] This 'we are a friendly bunch on IRC' brotherhood is actually hindering the growth of our community. I think we should really think about the habit of using IRC for too much. I actually received quite a lot of feedback about this topic on IRC (more than here on the mailing list). Thanks eMBee for extracting the final agreement and posting it here. And people have agreed to do a release this Sunday with fl:2-qa images. The final 2.5 release would be several weeks later while people work out how to do the transitional fl:2-2.5 label. jesse [0] http://community.apache.org/newbiefaq.html#NewbieFAQ-IsthereaCodeofConductforApacheprojects?
