This issue is resolved.
1) downgrading Maven from version 2.0.8 to 2.0.6 fixed the forax-buildhelper
issue.
2) Added the following to pom.xml
<repositories>
<repository>
<id>fornax.repository</id>
<name>Fornax Repository</name>
<url>http://www.fornax-platform.org/m2/repository</url>
</repository>
</repositories>
<pluginRepositories>
<pluginRepository>
<id>fornax.plugin.repository</id>
<name>Fornax Plugin Repository</name>
<url>http://www.fornax-platform.org/m2/repository</url>
</pluginRepository>
</pluginRepositories>
3) Fornax M2 is available again.
