SCNFSET (Scan File Set)

The SCNFSET command provides the ability to scan for occurrances of a particular file (including logicals) in up to nine different source files.

This program illustrates samples of the following APIs:

QUSROBJD Retrieve Object Description
QUSRMBRD Retrieve Member Description
QMHRTVM Retrieve Message
QMHSNDPM Send message
QUSCRTUS Create User space
QUSRPTRUS   Retrieve Pointer to User Space
QDBLDBR  Retrieve Data Base Relations

This example (by Craig Rutledge Jr.) is available for upload and examination via his XML loading technique:

SCNFSET.xml

The command is designed to allow you to enter a selected data file and up to nine source physical files. The utility retrieves all PF and LF file names associated with the selected data file and scans for those names in the selected source members. It ignores comment lines in both RPG and CLP source.

The output can either be an informative report or an outfile. Very handy when tracking down all source that may need recompiling due to a file format change.

                    Scan File Set Where Used.

File name: ______

        Library name: *LIBL__

Source file(s): .

    File: . . . . __________ Name, F4 prompt predefined lists

       Library: . . . . *LIBL_____

        Member: . . . . *ALL_____ *ALL, generic*

          + For more values: . _

Output: *PRINT___ *PRINT, *OUTFILE

Note!: this utility use the same SCNMLTDFTR program (define groups of source files as a single command keyword) as the SCNMLT utility, if a user has modified that program they will want to copy that source elsewhere then recopy after uploading this utility.
