This gives me a lot to think about in regards to a possible design for
my "generic engine".
You might want to read the thread "SwiXML robustitude" from ealier this
month which includes suggested enhancements (my post of 1/14 in
particular) that include what you were/are looking for. At the end of
the thread Wolf indicates an interest in adopting some of the suggestions.
