Dear GAP Forum, After over twelve years as Chair of the GAP Council, I am stepping down.
I am very pleased to report that, with the overwhelming support of the GAP Council, Bettina Eick will be the new Chair of the GAP Council, starting from 1st October 2021. Bettina is a major leader and contributor to computational group theory and computer algebra in general, and to GAP in particular. She heads the GAP Centre at T.U. Braunschweig, and is author or co-author of eleven GAP packages, including the Small Groups Library. I wish Bettina all the best, leading the GAP Council in its support of the GAP system.
