Dear Alexander,

Please don't get angry. I and my team like GAP - because I think it is 
aesthetical - and just want it to become (even) better.

I think you must agree that, even in such trivial cases, there must be no such 
epic bugs as this one with rings. Of course GAP must recognize the ring of even 
numbers (if it is not supposed to have the unity).
