Because you have to have the KDE libraries installed, it uses a tabbed interface instead of an MDI like PSPad (which I happen to like) and the file chooser - well, you might as well be running Nautilus or Konqueror open to the directory you're working in and just switch to it when you want to open another file. Lastly, it's too fat for just a simple code editor - the same goes for gedit (which is what I usually use).
