No, it isn't possible. PSPad changes it's working directory e.g. if you compiling project. Maybe better is to configure your comp to don't change drive letters if you attach your external disk. If you use WinXP (Win2K), you can do it in Disk manager. If you use Win9x, define external partition only your external disk. No primary partition.
