I wish to use PSPad to exit openlaszlo xml files. Laszlo files are suffixed with .lzx .
I wish to have [ctrl-space] context sensitive editing when editing .lzx files. These are the steps I took but PSPad refused to bestow any [ctrl-space] or [menu:view->change syntax] capability for .lzx files. A. These are the steps I took: 1. I created a LZX.def file in context folder and restarted PSPad. 2. I opened a file called z.lzx. 3. I clicked [menu:view->change syntax] but LZX was not a choice of file types. 4. I clicked on new files icon but LZX was not a choice of file types. B. Okay ... Then I moved lzx.def out of context folder. And took another set of steps: 1. Open a blank file and copied all the clips I want for LZX files on to the new file without saving it. 2. Selected all the text, and pressed [ctrl-alt-space]. 3. A window popped up and suggested that the new clip file is INI. It solicited me to save the clip name and description. 4. Lo! it wrote into the context/ini.def. No,no, no, I want it to write into a new context/lzx.def . 5. Okay, I reinstalled PSPad because I needed to restore the original contents of ini.def. C. Finally, I decided to [menu:settings->Highlighters Settings]: 1. I chose one of the <not assigned> slots and checked it. 2. I copied LZX.def back into context folder. 3. I wanted to use LZX.def, but Highlighters Settings Filter Name field would not let me key in any name. D. Okay now, I realise perhaps I have to create a syntax/lzx.ini file. 1. Somehow I had the syntax/ini file created but a syntax ini file is not a .def file. It won't let me (or I don't know how to) define what I can define in a .def file. I want PSPad to eat in my LZX.def file and it would not. I give up. Please help. ~ exasperated. -- <http://forum.pspad.com/read.php?2,17785,33429> PSPad freeware editor http://www.pspad.com
