I completely agree. I just switched over to PSPad. I love it, but I can't get used to this particular "inconsistency" with other apps. It would be great if double-click and drag while holding the mouse down could be made extend the selection in PSPad. Most other Windows apps implement this selection method and unfortunately I have become very used to it.
