I've the same problems with chinese signs. But it only happens after some time.
As somebody else found out, it's all the signs printed above each other. 
if you tipe in "echo h" in the dos command line, the h is perfect. If yout type
in "echo ha" you can recognize the a above the h.
I'm also curious to find a way to handle it.

Thanks for the insight Jacob...  You're right, of course - when you look at the
output closely, the lines with "chinese" characters correspond to lines
containing text (in the actual output) while blank lines in the log window
correspond exactly to blank lines in the output.  Furthermore, selecting a
portion (several lines) of "chinese" letters and doing a copy/paste into an
editor window - pastes exact lines of output one would expect.  So, without
doubt, the "chinese" characters are, in fact, just regular letters over-printed
- as you suggest.  Funny...

Unfortunately, on both of my machines it happens right from the start and all
the time (perhaps because NSIS compiler dumps a lot of text into the log
window).
