Maybe WinMerge (http://winmerge.org/, open source software) can aid you. It will highlight inline differences - and with a little creativity (e.g. some strips of paper taped to the top of your screen, to cover the parts that you are not interested in) you should be able to check for amount differences pretty fast, while you scroll down the documents (they scroll in unison).
