Hi, Just for info, to said that this "problem" is always alive, I have also discovered that _PSPad.exe_ tries to do a connection to a DNS server at start ! :-/
I have tried with the 3 last beta version : 2249, 2250 and 2253. It is on my new PC (Windows XP SP2 Media Center Edition) with the firewall of _Norton Internet Security 2006_ already installed. It saids that it is _UDP_ (output) protocol to _213.245.0.26 : 53_ . I don't use the PSPad FTP functionality, all the file strings in Recent.INI are for files under C:\ "Program Settings... -> Internet, Use Proxy Server" is not checked, I have no proxy. I have tried to uncheck the Active option in "Settings -> Spell Settings" but the connection try is always there. "netstat -b" gives nothing about PSPad or 53 port. So I have let in the firewall the access to PSPad.exe to not have question each time I start it :-P I can reproduce the problem, deleting the PSPad.exe entry inside the firewall and restarting PSPad.
