As I send in my previus aswer with screenshots, I am not able to
simulate your problem, because FixedSys font on my comp has same width as in
Notepad.
If you send me instructuion, how to get different font size, I will be able to
do something.

Ok, thanks for your interest! Here is how to do it:
Just switch the font (Format/Font) to
Andale Mono (viz

55 ), or Lucida Console (should be present on any XP system).
Then, I you open for example a Python file, with the default options, some
keywords are in bold. In this case the character spacing is just too wide, even
if you change the syntax highlighting settings to have no bold or italic
characters. In PSPad 4.51 the font spacing is like this:
