I agree, the forum search is problematic. I have often used it because I wanted to find precisely these threads "where the question was answered", in order to find what the one who had asked missed. But I rarely had an opportunity to make some wiseacre remark like, "Well, a _forum search_ (hint, hint) tells me ...," ;-) because it just didn't show what I knew existed.
