I ran into this problem a while ago and it got bad enough to where I nearly gave up using PSPad entirely.
However, I found a solution to the problem. http://www.donationcoder.com/Software/Jibz/Dina/index.html The Dina font is a variation of the Proggy Fonts I wanted to use. Best of all, the screen garbage is completely gone. You'll also notice that the garbage does not appear when Courier New is selected as the font. This leads me to believe that the problem has to do with the way the majority of fixed with fonts handle bolding. Perhaps the rendered font is not as wide as the edit component is expecting it to be. Another option was to play with the highlighter settings and remove all bold attributes. However, after doing this I realized how much the bolding matters. I burned through all the fixed width fonts I could find to test and only about 6 fonts didn't have the corruption problem with the multi-highlighter. Unfortunately, I don't remember the names of the other fonts which worked as I did not keep them. Hopefully Dina will be enough of a solution for those who ran into the problem which I was running into myself. -- <http://forum.pspad.com/read.php?2,32366,39868> PSPad freeware editor http://www.pspad.com
