Error404: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've been noticing some weird... things on the end of my lines... i can't even call those chars, since they're usually just some colored lines or dots. It don't happen all the time and the "things" change randomly if i scroll or just switch to another application.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've been seeing the same thing ever since I started using PSPad, using the Lucida Console font. Sometimes pressing the pilcrow button (ΒΆ) gets rid of it, sometimes not. But the garbage seemed to go away when I changed to the DejaVu fonts. (Note "*seemed to go away*". See my signature line for details.) And I've never seen it happen in any other application until today, when I noticed a similar thing in THE (The Hessling Editor). I've been using THE on other computers for years, and never noticed any garbage until I started using it on this laptop recently. See the screen image. Note that -- unlike with PSPad -- the garbage doesn't scroll with the text. It stays in a fixed place on the screen. If text scrolls over the garbage, the garbage sometimes disappears, and sometimes some new garbage gets created. Weird. I think that font is a system font, by the way. THE runs in a DOS box. I thought this might help the PSPad developer(s) to fix the problem. I'm running 4.5.2(2241) on XP. [I love PSPad, by the way, but some things are easier to do in THE, especially batch processing, and some things PSPad can't do are possible in THE. It's fully programmable in Rexx, is command-driven, and has a very handy prefix-command facility using the prefix area on the left. It also runs on other platforms, including Linux.] -- If it was bad, it'll be back. <http://forum.pspad.com/read.php?2,32366,40854> PSPad freeware editor http://www.pspad.com
