First - download the current PSPad version. R/O attribut has no direct relation to PSPad internal R/O state except initial settings. You can anytime change it in the PSPad clicking on the byutton with "lock" symbol or use menu File / R/O
Examples: 1) I have file with R/O. When I open it, it(s R/O. I want to edit it - I will press button and edit this file. When I save it, it's content will be saved and R/O attribut on the file stay as is. Next time is available for editing. 2) I have file with no R/O attribute, but I want to prevent it from accidental changes in PSPad. I will press R/O button and set this file for R/O (no changes in file attribut). When I open this file next time, is still marked as R/O In Program setings is possible to set Option what changes file attribut when you changes R/O file state in PSPad. -- <http://forum.pspad.com/read.php?4,41803,41806> PSPad freeware editor http://www.pspad.com
