Hello,
I am yet another former Textpad-user strolling around looking for an alternative
editor as Textpad development has been so sluggish in the past. However, I miss
an important feature: If soft line breaks are enabled a long line is broken by
PSPad in the following manner:
___- longlinelonglinelonglinelonglinelon
glinelongline
___- longlinelonglinelonglinelonglinelon
glinelongline
(I replaced spaces with underscores)
This makes bulleted lists like the example above difficult to read. However,
Textpad indents the subsequent lines if the first line of the paragraph starts
with tabs or spaces ('virtual' or 'visual' line indenting). This makes bulleted
lists much easier to read:
___- longlinelonglinelonglinelonglinelon
___glinelongline
___- longlinelonglinelonglinelonglinelon
___glinelongline
Note that this is a purely visual effect, no spaces are actually added to the
start of the following lines.
Could this be implemented as an option into PSPad?
Of course the best solution (surpassing Textpad's behaviour) would be if the
next line would be intended like this:
___- longlinelonglinelonglinelonglinelon
_____glinelongline
This could probably be implemented by the option to specify a number of
additional spaces that should be added when 'virtual' line indenting is active.
