I use mainly Unicode for my HTML projects and PSPad handles Unicoded files smoothly. Sometimes, however, I need to use other codepage and the mess begins.
I just closed a Unicode project and opened another one, with codepage defined as ISO-something. In "Settings > Program settings" I have "Menu format settings" defined as "Default CP for files opening". Alas, my ISO files have been opened as ANSI and that's what is written in the statusbar. However in "Format" menu UTF-8 is still ticked. In my project's settings default file format is set to Unix. Alas, in the statusbar file format is displayed as DOS, and in "Format" menu nothing is ticked at all. I would like to ask you to take a look at this issue and fix it. Here are my humble wishes: 1. when I open projects' files, they should be read and displayed in the codepage and file format set in project's settings, regardless of what has been set thru "Settings > Program settings" 2. proper codepage and file format should be displayed on the status bar and "Format" menu (in some previous builds file format in "Format" menu was being ticked and displayed properly) Certainly, I use the latest build (2284). -- <http://forum.pspad.com/read.php?4,43121,43121> PSPad freeware editor http://www.pspad.com
