Bug Report. PsPad Version 4.5.3 (2298) using German language. Windows Vista Ultimate - with all Microsoft Updates installed.
Sometimes I can't save a file in PsPad. I choose "Datei - Speichern Unter" (File - Save As) and nothing happens, i.e. no dialogue window opens. When this is the case and I simply add a blank line as first line (by pressing Enter), then I am able to save. My bug is reproducable with my PsPad installation. I have saved the following text into a file with Notepad (without quote " character): "Es wurde festgestellt, dass Ihre Registrierungsdatei noch von anderen Anwendungen oder Diensten verwendet wird. Die Datei wird nun entladen. Die Anwendungen oder Dienste, die Ihre Registrierungsdatei anhalten, funktionieren anschließend u. U. nicht mehr ordnungsgemäß. DETAIL - " When I copy the text from Notepad into PsPad I can't save it. Then I add a newline as fist line and I can save it. It is possible to substitute the german special characters ä and ß by ae and ss. It's still not possible to save. When I delete in PsPad the following characters at the beginning of the first line: "Es wurde", I can save the file. Because these are 8 characters, I deleted the last 8 characters of the first line. But I couldn't save it. Then I deleted the following last 14 characters "ordnungsgemäß." and I was able to save. I can open the file created with Notepad in PsPad and save it. I copy and paste the opened text from the opened file in PsPad into a new PsPad file, but I can't save the new file. So this problem has only something to do with newly created files in PsPad. There was another bug in this forum with the Subject "Can't save a file with text containing a colon on 1st line".
