When you load the following document as a TeX document, you will see a problem
with the highlighter:
\documentclass{article}
\begin{document}
$\rightarrow$ Blah
$\rightarrow$ Foobar
\end{document}
In the first line, there is actually a blank before $\rightarrow$ (somehow
invisible in this forum). That line correctly switches to math mode, and back
for “Blah”.
In the next line, however, the first dollar sign seems to be ignored:
\rightarrow is treated as a normal command, “Foobar” is treated as math
mode. This seems to be related to the first dollar sign appearing in column 1.
