Have you tried
debugMsg("| file: %FullFileName%"); ?
Note that %FullFileName% is case-sensitive.

It results in a dialog box with 3 buttons: Ok, Repeat, Cancel. No variable
relacement.
I had a look at scripting and think that this will give me full control once I
master it. Great stuff!

Apparently, this functionality is fubar for years now, if it ever worked. I've
never heard that anyone ever got these messages.
