Like MrSpock, I can live with both ways too. And indeed there are actually no real standards for tray icons, as MrSpock said.
Personally, I consider a single click a bit more convenient (and its also the behaviour of WinXPs quicklaunch bar). So would I slightly prefer a single click to restore PSPad from the tray. But if most users prefer doubleclick and for standardization reasons, I'm not completely against dblclick.
