I find that these disconnects happen frequently and the program locks up when you try to save. A major irritant, certainly. But I find that if you wait long enough (like 15 minutes) it will restore itself without you having to shut it down and lose everything.
I take advantage of these lock-up to go and get a coffee or take a break... I also frequently refresh the connection when I haven't saved for a while.
