Summary of tabs experiences: - tabs title lines somehow flicker/ move/ vibrate a lot and that is unnerving. Seems something is not smooth in its display. Can't really explain it, but while tabs in windows system, firefox, crimson editor, etc. appear robust and static, the tabs of ie7 and PSPad appear fragile and flickering.
- When I open 20-30-40 files at a time in PSPad, in single line tab titles, it is very difficult to move between them one by one. that is the only option provided by pspad. Please have a look at firefox's tab. If more than a screen-width-full tabs are open, the left-right arrows at right side move between many tabs at a time (4 or 5 or so), so we don't need to move one by one. I think crimson editor was also moving across a lot of tabs if many were open. Please consider giving such an option in some future release. - Alt 1 to alt 9 are only possible shortcut keys. Of course, other alt combos are in use for other shortcuts. But some method to move between other tabs 11-50 or so) would be helpful. I don't know how. maybe, some shortcut would open the left tab list column, and each tab entry in that can have an alphanumeric written with each tab 1-9 a-z A-Z and then pressing that num or letter would take to that tab. - Alt 0 is vacant. Maybe it can be customized to go to "Earlier" tab in which we were last on. (not the left tab). Pressing it again would take us back to current tab that had become earlier tab of that earlier tab to which previous alt 0 had moved. something like swap channel on TV. - Due to file arrangement on disk, when we drag drop multiple files to pspad (or to crimson editor or in any other software), the files don't open in alphabetical sequence in adjacent tabs but open in any funny order. that is caused by windows problem, I am sure. But, if pspad could provide some method of sorting tab titles by file name and then putting them in adjacent ascending or descending order in nearby tabs, that would help a lot in handling multiple files in a go. Maybe, left col tabs pane could have some way to do it. -- I have also put Ctrl-W for close current tab (snatching it from Wordwrap) that is standard in various software. I would miss some shortcut for wordwrap but I think I need to set wordwrap only once whereas I use Ctrl-W to close many times so it would do. And I have set Ctrl-Shift-W to close all tabs. -- None of this is important or urgent. There is no problem. Just a few thoughts and suggestions that you can ponder upon at your leisure. Thanks a lot. -- <http://forum.pspad.com/read.php?2,47869,47911> PSPad freeware editor http://www.pspad.com
