Strangely, PsPad does not recognize my files ending on .xml as XML files. Here are the steps I performed:
(1) "Create new file" The file type becomes "Perl", which is OK because this is my default file type. (2) Enter the XML text (3) Save the file as foo.xml The file type is still "Perl", though I had expected here to change to XML (4) Close the file (5) Open again foo.xml The file type is still "Perl". (6) "View/ChangeSyntax" -> XML Now the file is seen as type "XML". (7) Close the file (8) Open it again It is seen as "XML" Why was it necessary to do "ChangeSyntax"? The Highlighter Settings define a file matching *.xml, so at latest in step (5) above, PsPad should have recognized the file as being XML, isn't it? -- Ronald Fischer (Germany) <http://forum.pspad.com/read.php?2,49062,49062> PSPad freeware editor http://www.pspad.com
