Hello, I have located a replicatable bug when deleting a portion of text while in column selection mode. I have uploaded the file to FreeDrive, the link to the folder is http://www.freedrive.com/folder/216759. The filename is 'rec.out' (it's just a text file.) To see the bug in v4.5.3 (2298), perform the following:
1. Go to Edit / Selection Type / Column 2. Starting from the top of the file, select columns 1-52 all the way to the bottom (the objective is to remove everything in front of the IP addresses) 3. Press Delete You will notice that some lines delete the first character of the IP address, even though they were outside the selection. Even stranger: 4. Press Ctrl-Z to undo, then delete again 5. Repeat This is just one of the failure modes I have seen with this file. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the tabs in the file. If you play around, you can see similar effects (either more or less obvious) by selecting different columns. This seems to have already been reported in 4.5.2 in 2006: - http://forum.pspad.com/read.php?2,35985,35985#msg-35985 ...but the author of that post only provided basic directions. Here I provide directions and a sample file to test with. I have also uploaded the output of the 'Direct Edit' feature of the configuration panel in case this is dependent on particular configuration settings. Please, I use column select/delete quite often, and I love PSPad. Please provide a fix for this. -- <http://forum.pspad.com/read.php?2,49832,49832> PSPad freeware editor http://www.pspad.com
