There's 'Smart Tabs' (which seems to add a space after the tab) and there's 'Auto Indent' (which, as one would assume, matches the whitespace at the start of the line).
I've tried changing the configuration around with the different combinations of 'Smart Tabs', 'Real Tabs' and 'Auto Indent' as well as messing with the lengths of the tabs and indent. I'm still having the same problem. IMHO, this is the only caveat of this program. Everything else works famously! I especially like the multi-highlighter (something gedit sorely lacks).
