I use PSPad to syntax highlight log files. Many of them end in .LOG - so mapping one highlighter to all of them is all that is currently possible.
If there was a command line switch I could add my own context menu items to .LOG files for each log type. I could then right click the log and pick the Highlighter I know is applicable. I know that highlighter can be changed after entering a file, but this would be much cleaner when using PSpad extensively for log highlighting. D. PS - ultimately I would love to see the ability to assign highlighter based on the existence of a string inside the file - like crimson editor. Could be configured on a per-extension basis so as not to have this overhead on opening files extensions that are not ambiguous in regard to what highlighter to apply. So if I configure "look inside file" on a ".LOG" in a single highligher - only .LOG files would ever have this check done. -- <http://forum.pspad.com/read.php?2,50478,50478> PSPad freeware editor http://www.pspad.com
