Yeah this would be very nice, even for the few times I use PSPad's File Explorer.
I've resorted to using Directory Opus (http://www.gpsoft.com.au/), which is perhaps a little pricey for some at $85, but the ability to have 10+ directories open and organized in tabs works like a dream. Collections of directories can be saved as "listers" and reopened with a few clicks. Combined with PSPad's sessions this works brilliantly and allows me to completely sidestep the PSPad projects feature.
