I tried that, but it will open the text file in a new instance. Do you use the option to use ONE PSPad at the time and it doesn't allow to start more instances? Maybe then PSPad is forced to open the text file inside the instance wich is already running.
If this helps: The UAC is _completely_ disabled. Even in a brand new shiny project it doesn't work. Now I'll take a look into the file association settings for text files in Windows.... - found out that the standard action in "shell" was not defined. I defined the action "open". - deleted the whole ShellEx key, restarted PSPad -> Did not help - noticed that the key "command" in "Shell" was with a capital C. Deleted the key and waited for recreation from Windows, then restarted PSPad. -> Opened in Notepad! Closed regedit, went to the shell extension of PSPad. - unregisted the shell extension > doesn't help, Notepad comes up. - reregistred the shell extension > no change... Notepad comes up. Given up. Then I tested following: Allowing only pne PSPad instance while registring PSPad as the main editor for textfiles. Now it works, but with a big delay of 2 seconds!! And I would like to allow more instances of PSPad. Hope you can reproduce the problem. :-( -- <http://forum.pspad.com/read.php?2,51011,51035> PSPad freeware editor http://www.pspad.com
