Hi,
I'm using pspad vers 4.5.0 and wonder how to best upgrade to the latest version
without losing prev settings for ftp etc?

Is it only to download the latest version and install it in the same directory
where I have the lower version?

Need some guidence before I take actions so I don't mess something up.

It is normally safe to just overwrite the current install with the new version.
However, you have to backup all files contained in the install, where you
previously made some changes/tweaks.

The usual configuration files aren't a part of the install, namely:
PSPad.ini PSPad_MU.ini PSPadFTP.ini Recent.ini Sessions.ini

On the other hand, it is possible to tweak e.g. the template files, the context
definition files in the respective folders etc.
If you modify these files keeping the original names, you have to make sure, you
don't overwrite them with the official ones while upgrading.
