pdanes: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks, I did what you said and added the line
HLOnUpToSize=1000MB and it seems to have worked. The actual filesize was 467KB. But I wonder now if I have done something bad. I meant to put 1000KB or 1MB, but fat-fingered the entry, and now I can't paste into the direct edit window, the way I did it to begin with. And putting HLOnUpToSize in the search window does nothing, simply jumps back to the previous dialog. I tried manually putting it back down, to 100KB, but nothing changes, it still opens the file properly highlighted and I can't paste, or even backsace in the text window of the direct edit dialog. It seems to work, but do you think I may have munched something and should re-install PsPad? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not sure, what might have happened, but direct edit is only an interface to the file PSPad.INI in the main PSPad folder, you can open it directly and check possible irregularities; I think to values of file sizes are given only as number in bytes (without the units or abbreviations), e.g. HLOnUpToSize=250000 You may also edit this file using another editor in order not to confuse the running program; or you can save the file with a different name and replace them after closing PSPad. hth vbr -- <http://forum.pspad.com/read.php?2,51727,51739> PSPad freeware editor http://www.pspad.com
