When using autocomplete, sometimes you want to change your mind on the keys you have already typed.
The natural way to do this would be to use the backspace key however the backspace key seems to do noting after the autocomplete has kicked in. It would be nice (like the old ctrl-j) that when you press the backspace key, additional options are shown. However I would like to extend this. With ctrl-j, you can only backspace to the point where you pressed ctrl-j.
