If I open an MS-DOS BATch file in PSPad v4.5.4 and inadvertently add training blanks to a line, these are not removed when the file is saved, as seen when then opening the file in the HEX editor.
All other editors that I know of (including Notepad) will correctly truncate a line following the final non-blank character. As a test, try SET VAR=123 and type some trailing blanks, then save the file. Opening it in the HEX editor will show the 0x20 blanks at the end of the line.
