*I'm running 4.5.5 (2417) but have seen this for numerous versions back.* When I load a Javascript file (*.js), PSpad always chooses another highlighter instead of the Javascript highlighter. Depending on which highlighters are enabled in the highlighters settings, it will always choose one in the list above Javascript. If none are enabled above Javascript, when opening the "Change Syntax" dialog after opening a Javascript file there's an unfocused (i.e., dotted outline) selection on "Javascript". However, I have to manually click on it to make the file take on the actual Javascript highlighting. In fact if I deselect *every* highlighter except Javascript, it still will not select and apply it to the opened file.
Regardless of what highters are (or are not) enabled, I can manually change it to Javascript, but I have to do this for each and every *.js file I open. I've verified the "*.js" file masks exists in, and *only* in, the Javascript specification.
