Thank you for such a quick reply! I used HTML / Tidy / Tidy clean Document "- no wrap, no indent" and, of course, it solved the problem! I knew it would be simple.
All I have to do is remember to remove the meta generator line. I've just tested Tidy again by removing one bracket in the corrected html, but Ctrl + F10 still doesn't work. Does Ctrl + F10 report ANY errors or must I always use one of the other options? I tested another option: " - Reformat only" on freshly corrected code (with no changes) and it reported two errors! Unfortunately, "Reformat only" is not described in Help.
