Thanks for your response. First option worked fine. I set a keyboard shortcut to turn highlighter on/off faster.
Second option does not work. My URLs are "ftp://"; and for some reason, when I select the ftp:// URL and open in default application (Chrome), it opens as "ftp//" instead of "ftp://";. Not sure if this is a problem in pspad or Chrome/Windows is not interpreting it right. But this would have been a faster option than first option. I am still not sure why pspad doesn't allow both syntax highlighting and URL highlighting automatically at the same time. But that is a different topic.
