I would also love to have this feature: double click on a word and see all other occurances highlighted.
I just tried Notepad++ for some time to see whether I can get used to it, but I switched back because I find the file compare tool better in PSPad and I find the Code Explorer more useful compared to the folding feature in Notepad++.
