Normally multiline comments can’t be nested, take PHP for example. The first encounter of the closing sequence is taken as an end marker, no matter how many other closing sequences follow. Therefore I guess the syntax highlighter is correct by ending the comment in that particular place. You will probably end up with a syntax error in your compiler / interpreter anyway.
