Freeman: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When possibility to pass encoding exists, I vote for any encoding, passing with data, as in HTTP. With UTF-8, Russian texts become ~1.5 times longer, in bytes. The same thing with other languages use Cyrillic. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am trying to prevent situation when somebody uses Cyrillic in ANSI file. The file become unreadable. Same thing if you name script items in Cyrillic and you will run it on Windows with English regional settings - menu items will be broken. UTF-8 make files 1,5 longer, UTF-16 2x longer always. -- <http://forum.pspad.com/read.php?2,67953,68080> PSPad freeware editor http://www.pspad.com
