Hi, this is usually called "rückläufige Sortierung" in German - the sort is performed from the end of the "words". This should actually be a separate type of sort options, as it is still combinable with other string-based (ANSI, ASCII, Locale). This sorting form can be useful for some linguistic analyses, e.g. regarding word endings, suffixes, compounds, possibly even rhyme-finding etc. Cf. e.g. the following listing of wikipedia entries: https://de.wiktionary.org/w/index.php?title=Kategorie:Rückläufige_Wörterliste _(Deutsch)&pagefrom=R
(In your sample, there are trailing spaces in some lines, which influence the sort order.) hth, vbr -- <http://forum.pspad.com/read.php?6,68690,68696> PSPad freeware editor http://www.pspad.com
