Windows 7 This is really bizarre. At first PSPad 4.6.1 was locking up on this one Perl source file when I hit 2 double quotes. But PSPad doesn't do it on any other file.
Whenever I type 2 double quotes in PSPad, PSPad locks up and uses 25% of the CPU. It never seems to return from this problem. This is my main editor and has been customized over many months so I really don't want a new editor at this time. * Typing different characters, or typing the same characters in a different place, does not affect PSPad. Only typing 2 double quotes "" does this. * Typing "" in a new text file in PSPad doesn't hurt it. * Recent programs that have been installed: - DBExtra was installed last week about May 18, 2017. And earlier this week I used it, so that may have run stay-resident processes. - Corsair engine for keyboard in March 2017. What I've tried: * Reboot Windows 7. That didn't help. * Copy source file and edit it. * Scan PC for viruses. That didn't help. * Uninstall PSPad 4.6.1, reinstall newest version 4.6.2. That didn't help. * Reboot Windows again. PSPad still locks up when I type a double quote. * Quit the Corsair engine for my keyboard. PSPad still locks up when I type 2 double quotes. * Could there be a setting in PSPad that I could use to fix this? * Has anyone else had this issue? Thank you for any help. -- <http://forum.pspad.com/read.php?2,68911,68911> PSPad freeware editor http://www.pspad.com
